| recently the President of the U.S. stated that approximately 30,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed in Iraq so far in the war. This shocked me. 30,000 civilians??? 30,000 innocent people??? 30,000 people who are non-combatants; meaning they aren't fighting anyone??? 30,000 people is a LOT of people....who are these people? who killed them? why? how???? what on earth are we doing in Iraq that 30,000 innocent people have to be killed??? what are we there for in the first place? don't tell me its because Saddam Hussein was a terrible dictator....thats true. he was. and now he is no longer in power. don't tell me its because we are instating democracy in Iraq. maybe we are. but who gave us the right to do that? does Iraq really even want democracy? do we really need to kill 30,000 people to bring democracy to a country that might not even want it??
i just don't get it.
the whole entire thing seems completely and utterly senseless to me....and horribly horribly depressing.

Memory....an amazing song....much better when listened to then simply
read....they have some of the most emotional songs ever....sad
too....but wonderful. i loves it.
This fall belongs to both of us
Let me take you to a place where you can scream out loud
All the words to your favorite songs
‘Cause that’s the least that I can do
For how much you love me
And I hope you’ve had the time of your life
Thank you for the memories
You’re the only one that can pick me apart
Too fragile to realize
You make me who I am, you’re everything that is real
In my life
I understand we both grew up
And there’s things you have to do
The only thing I ask of you if you ever fall in love again
I hope you find yourself
Someone who knows how to appreciate the way you laugh
And I’m always here for you
You’re the only one that can pick me apart
Too fragile to realize
You make me who I am
You’re everything that is real
In my life
also listen to: pretty much every other song by them. it all rocks

| "Of the varied forms of crime, bank robbery is the most satisfactory to both the individual and society. The individual of course gets a lot of money, that goes without saying, and he benefits society by putting large amounts of cash back into circulation. The economy is stimulated, small businessmen prosper; many people read about the crime with great interest, and the police have a chance to exercise their skills. Good for all."
-Harry Harrison (from The Stainless Steel Rat Saves the World)
i think i'll go and rob a bank now...anyone want to help?

| Philosophy 220, Intro to Logic is a very interesting class....definitely one which gets one thinking.
so here is what is on my mind today: i greatly dislike(i was going to say absolutely hate but then i realized that it does have its positive side) the way our entire system works, particularly the education system. i believe i've said some of this before but i've thought more about it so yeah. we spend around 20 years of our lives in the education system; if we really want to "succeed" we spend even more; we work our butts off in high school so that we can get good enough grades to get accepted to a good enough college and then we work our butts off even more in order to "succeed" in college and get a "successful" career so that we can work the rest of our lives and make as much money as we can so that we can live our quaint, content, happy, mindless, unthinking, unquestioning, unadventurous, undisturbed, set in our ways little lives....live and look just like every single other person. and you know what? i think its completely stupid. and you know what is worse? if you don't like it....too bad. because you can't really do much about it unless you want to live your life working at mcdonalds or on the street. And then what about those people who really want to go to college and really want to succeed? well...if you don't have the right grades or the money then too bad. you can't. the whole system promotes more and more class injustice. upper class people with money continue to go to college and get good educations while the underprivileged people continue to be unable to go to college and therefore end up not getting a good education resulting in getting a crappy job and they end up raising more kids who can't afford to go to college and the whole system just keeps going. and you know....i'm stuck in the system and i don't think i can really do anything about it. i guess i should just be thankful to be getting an education....and i really am but its still stupid. whats worse is that education should be about the gaining of knowledge...not just about getting a good career.
it feels good to rant a bit....thanks for listening if you listened and if you don't even read this thats totally cool too because its rather long. i feel like i could go on for a lot longer too....i have plenty of other thoughts....but i'll save those for another day.
hope you all have good days
